Before I go, let’s take a little more than we have before
You said that you’d be lucky if you died slow and beautiful
And somehow I know what you mean
It’s give and take
When everything is gone and so much has changed
I can tell you’re tired and nothing has gone your way in a long time
And your heart, it aches
I told you that I won’t let you get too low
Before I go, let’s wait a while longer - set things in stone
Then maybe you can put the other foot first, move forward
And then down the road we can joke about it
It’s give and take
The things you’ve held close to you start to fade
But you’re not alone and I can tell you’re still shooting straight
All of the things you’ve gained, It’s an even trade
I told you that I won’t let you get too low
Maybe there’s a time and a place
If I said it, then that’s what i mean
But if you take a look around, you’ll see
You’ve wound up where you’re meant to be
Your heart
Just like a dog in the streets
Just like a kid in the summer heat
Like you’re still and staring at your feet
I told you that I won’t let you get too low

the evolution of citizen is almost identical to the typical depiction of human evolution. As you please strays from the previous releases while containing raw emotion. ghøstbødy
The second EP from Northern Irish singer-songwriter Bea Stewart runs from gentle folk to pillowy pop ballads, all perfectly executed. Bandcamp New & Notable Apr 15, 2024
One of my favorite albums of all time. Turnover really hit a sound here that resonates with me deeply, and I often find myself coming back to this record and falling in love with it all over again. The drums and bass are greatly underrated on this album, creating their own unique melodies that fit within the song and create something new rather than just follow the guitars. Nothing beats the somehow joyful and somber sound of this record. Rob Carpenter
